The warmer months of summer make it an ideal time for outdoor fun.

Buttermilk Falls in Ithaca has a waterfall swimming area bigger than anything we saw in Maui. - Blueberry picking
August is peak season. Frosty Mountain Blueberry Patch near Binghamton is our hometown go-to. - County & state fairs
Budget-friendly rides, food trucks, and carnival games often make fairs a great thing to do instead of a pricey amusement park. The Broome County Fair and NY State Fair are both worth the trip. (Our family’s favorite event? Watching the rodeo!)

The Cider Mill in Endicott makes cider and donuts, and lets you watch! It’s educational and delicious.
Winter Day Trips

Cold weather doesn’t mean staying home, but it often means we’re on the hunt for fun day trips.
- Dog sledding rides
Lake Placid is so much fun in the winter. Right off Main Street, there’s dog sledding on Mirror Lake, a Toboggan run, and so much more! - Snow tubing
Greek Peak in Cortland is an easy winter win. Plus, they’ve got an indoor water park there too! - Museums
The Rochester Museum of Play is perfect on snowy days. Plan for a full day, including indoor zip lining!
